Modern Slavery (Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking) Policy

Purpose

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of human rights. Specifically it is defined as a deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

H & S Fabrics Limited has a zero –tolerance approach to modern slavery and its Directors and Shareholders are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships and to ensuring that effective systems and controls are taking place either within its own business or in its Suppliers or Contractors. As part of our contracting processes with Suppliers , Fabric Curtain makers, and other Contractors we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced , compulsory or trafficked labour whether adults or children. We also expect that our Suppliers hold their own Suppliers if applicable to the same high standard.

Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all employees, Directors, Agency workers, Sales Agents and third party representatives. The policy is contained within the staff handbook and does not form part of any employees’ contract of employment and may be amended at any time.

Responsibility for Policy

The Directors have overall responsibility for ensuring this policy, with managers and office staff having day to day responsibility to ensure compliance with our legal and ethical obligation. The Company Directors additionally have a responsibility for implementation. monitoring use and effectiveness, and dealing with any queries about it. Management at all levels are responsible for ensuring that those reporting to them understand and comply with the policy and that the policy is made clear through-out our supply chain.

Compliance with the Policy

You must ensure that you read, understand and comply with this policy. The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of H & S Fabrics Limited, or its supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for us, or under our control. You are required to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest a breach of this policy.

You must notify your Manager or the Directors as soon as possible if you think or suspect a conflict with this policy has, or might occur.

Please report to Managers or Directors any issues or suspicions of modern slavery within any part of our business or supply chain as early as possible.

If you are unsure whether an act or treatment of workers generally both within the business or its supply chain constitutes any form of modern slavery raise it with your Manager or Directors immediately.

We support an “open door Policy” and will fully support anyone who raises genuine concern in good faith under this policy. The Directors are committed to ensuring that no one will suffer any form of detrimental treatment as a result of reporting their suspicion that modern slavery is taking place within any part of the business or its supply chain. Detrimental treatment could include dismissal, disciplinary action, threats or other unfavourable treatment related to raising the concern. If you believe that you have suffered any such treatment you should raise the matter directly with the Directors. If you are an employee and the matter is not remedied then you should raise it formally using the process and documentation contained with the Employee Handbook under the section dealing with the Grievance Procedure.

Communication and Awareness of this Policy

Training on this policy and on the risk that H & S Fabrics Limited faces from modern slavery will be provided as necessary. Our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery must be communicated to all Suppliers Curtain Makers and other Contractors at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter.

Breaches of this policy

Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct.

H & S Fabrics Limited may terminate our relationship with other individuals or organisations working on its behalf if they breach this policy.
